Most people know that looking at computer screens for a long time can strain your eyes and give you headaches. Not many people understand how this occurs and the greater ramifications it can mean for your brain!
So, what can you do about it when computers, phones and tablets are all around us and are a requirement for daily living? Let’s be honest, there’s just no avoiding them!
Well I’ve got an easy solution for you that
will allow you to keep utilizing your digital screens and limit the impact to
eyes and brain. But first, let me
explain what does the damage.
Our computer screens create all sorts of light frequencies that enable us to see the screen. Some of these frequencies mimic the bright midday sun daylight. For most people that’s fine for during the day where we are designed to be on and functioning. But these high frequencies stimulate our brain constantly.
Light is all about frequencies. Ever seen a rainbow? What you’re seeing is the breakdown of light frequencies. Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo Violet.
Blue light is a high frequency colour and thus produces a high amount of stimulation. The blue light frequency produced by our screens creates a high level of stimulation and can over stimulate our brains with prolonged use
We commonly see people suffer with insomnia, mental fatigue, a foggy head, jumbling up words and letters, lack of mental clarity, frustration, anxiety and a whole lot more because of over stimulation.
what’s the solution?
Well ideally, get off the tech!! Reduce your time on your phone, tablet and PC. We are so connected these days we’re forgetting how to live. Ration your phone use and ensure you have one tech free day each week.
That said, living totally tech free is impossible these days. So, is there a way around it?
Whilst there is no way to eliminate the effect of tech, there is software to help minimize it. We love a program called Iris Mini. It’s a simple FREE program that runs in the background and reduces your screen’s flicker rate and blue light emissions. Many find simply using Iris makes a huge difference on their eye strain level and their daily fatigue. I’ve put a link below for you:

Most phones and tablets and blue light filters built in. Samsung phones have them as part of their pull-down options whilst Apple has a ‘Night Mode’ setting that does the same.
Reducing constant blue light exposure can make a huge difference to your brain health long time.
Tips :
- Reduce screen time on devices
- Turn on the blue light filter software on your devices
- Download IRIS mini on devices
