Migraines are a day to day concern for many people who live in the fear of losing their day. They jump at any potential sign of an impending migraine. They worry about their work, their family, their future. Migraine and headache can be an endless struggle. So do we know more about the science then we are led to believe…?
The fact is that science has started uncovering a lot about migraines in the last decade. Science is now aware of the neurological driving mechanism of altered sensory stimulation to the brain and brainstem that seems to trigger a migraine. We’re aware of the role your jaw and neck play in this system and research is starting to show the benefits of having these areas treated.
So it frustrates me to no end to still hear people being told to just simply take their medication as there is no other solution and no evidence exists for any other form of treatment.
Whilst it’s true that a level 1 standard of research is still a while away, I’ve seen countless people that have significantly benefited and regained control of their life from an intelligently planned and developed physical treatment strategy.
